What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a creative instinct, excellent writing skills (including sound spelling/grammar) and a talent for sharp editing/proof reading to be sub-editor for our reserves' volunteer newsletter. There is plenty of scope for volunteering from home in this role.

The skills you need

To meet quarterly deadlines for publication of our Volunteer Newsletter. Use Microsoft Publisher to design the structure and layout the newsletter (and potentially other volunteering publicity material). Source and maintain a library of photographs of volunteers in action and write or request volunteer features about people, activities and seasonal interest on the reserve. Take direction from the Volunteer Coordinator about where and when to gather content. Keep up to date with wildlife news, events and activities in the Aire Valley by talking to the staff and volunteers at both sites. Produce short/quick reserve bulletins for Aire Valley volunteers (between newsletters).

Notes

You will be joining a great team working for nature in the Aire Valley. You will need to attend an Induction session as well and undertake some essential on line training. You will also be able to access a comprehensive learning and development programme. You will be allocated a line manager and will have regular opportunities to discuss your role with this person.
