What we're looking for

The importance of local groups is crucial for promoting the values and mission of the RSPB in the local communities. We are currently looking for the right individual to assist the Mid Nene RSPB Local Group by leading its membership recruitment. You will be attending events and activities where new members might be recruited e.g. fete's, fairs, county shows etc. The role will involve working with RSPB staff and other volunteers from the group at membership recruitment events. You can read more information about the RSPB Mid Nene Local Group here: https://ww2.RSPB.org.uk/groups/midnene Main responsibilities • Carry out all necessary procedures regarding membership recruitment, such as: - supporting new members complete the membership form, - updating all component sheets of Membership spreadsheet, - providing new members with the Welcome Letter and Local Group's current Programme, - adding their email accounts on the RSPB Mid-Nene Mailing list. • Assist the preparation and running of Committee's Indoor meetings throughout the year. Key actions may include: - Prepare an Income/Expenditure report where appropriate, - Extract any necessary data from the Membership summary sheet to present to committee meeting. - Keep track of members' attendance. • Other tasks throughout the year will include: - Supporting the membership subscriptions of the RSPB Mid Nene 200 Club. - Ensure that membership records are always accurate and up-to-date. - Make necessary arrangements for the preparation of the group's Newsletter & Programme for the following year - Coordinate the successful distribution of Newsletters and Programmes to all members with the support of the Local Group's volunteer distributors – Ensure that all members list will have received pdf copies of Newsletters and Programmes as well. - Encourage new RSPB members to attend he Local Group's indoor meetings.

The skills you need

- You will have a friendly, and outgoing personality, always keen to speak to members and the public about the RSPB and membership. - You will need to have good organisational skills. - You will be enthusiastic about the mission and values of the RSPB.
