What we're looking for

Do you want to help us Revive our World. Following a period of inactivity on our reserves due to the lockdown and restrictions enforced by Covid 19 we are now able to invite our volunteers back out onto our reserves to help with important habitat maintenance. There is plenty to do and we will need teams to regularly be out on reserves and managed land at Portmore Lough, Montiaghs Moss and Lough Beg, and to allow our wardens to concentrate on the work needed. We are looking for someone to help co-ordinate our existing, new and possibly corporate volunteers, to arrange them into teams to attend the allocated days and venues.

The skills you need

Basic computer skills to produce word documents and spreadsheets. Good communication skills both verbal & written. Ability to work on your own and on line with a small team. Attention to detail. No knowledge of wildlife or conservation is required but a passion for nature would of course be the driving force.

Your time

Minimum:
One half day per week
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
October - March Initially

What's in it for you?

An opportunity to contribute to the effectiveness of RSPB work, and gain new skills. This role is suitable for someone who has the time to assist in co-ordinating work parties, without having to be involved in the physical activity, unless you want to!!! You will be working from home, but if you want, also getting out to see new areas around the Lough Neagh basin. You will be working with the volunteer Development Officer and the reserve wardens who will draw up the dates and venues for the required work parties. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.
