What we're looking for

Surveys are required to provide constant monitoring of a number of key species, selected mostly, from the red and amber lists of Birds of Conservation Concern. This will enable us to gain a sound knowledge of the numbers of birds using the reserves and to identify patters of decline or increase.

The skills you need

Ability to identify a variety of bird species by sight and call. Familiarity with the Weymouth reserves would be an advantage.

Your time

One visit per month
Year Round

What's in it for you?

An opportunity to develop field skills and make a great contribution to conservation. Surveys allow access to some wonderful areas not open to the public. An opportunity to increase your expertise and learn more about the reserve. To contribute to the monitoring of the reserves' key species and an excuse to go bird watching! The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.
