What we're looking for

We're looking for a self-motivated volunteer with well-honed project management skills to assist the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) England working group to drive forward EDI work, lead the coordination of the various workstreams and keep up to speed with the progress of a series of task and finish groups. They will work closely with the Head of Engagement to deliver this work. Tasks would include: •Developing project management framework documentation for England's EDI work. •Supporting the set-up of task and finish groups which will each focus on trialling different EDI initiatives in England. •Developing KPIs for the task and finish groups and supporting the reporting against these. •Providing general input and ideas to the England EDI group meetings. •Setting up check-ins with task and finish leads to ensure tasks keep to the project timeline. •Supporting the Head of Engagement to report to the England Leadership Team –once every 2-3 months via Teams. •Supporting the senior administrator with tasks relating to the coordination of the EDI group. •If willing, supporting the Head of Engagement in chairing the EDI group meetings. NB. We'd provide you with everything you're likely to need, eg, access to our RSPB computer network, so you can comfortably carry out your role from home. We will support you in your role every step of the way.

The skills you need

* Project management experience. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work autonomously. * Comfortable managing upwards. * Interest in EDI.

Your time

Minimum:
½ - 1 day a week
Duration:
6-8 months (with possible extension)
Period:
End of May / early June to Dec 2021

We will reimburse you for out-of-pocket travel expenses (up to a radius of 25 miles) if you do need to travel occasionally in this role, and we will of course give you ongoing support.
