What we're looking for

Whitehouse Lagoon is an important place for shorebirds and provides shelter during the winter months. Unfortunately, the combination of stream flow and tidal movement makes the lagoon a collection point for unwanted plastic debris and litter. Not only is this an eye sore but it can be harmful to birds and other wildlife. Your time could make a real difference and it would be great if you could join us.

The skills you need

No specialist skills are required though a good level of fitness and a desire to work outside is essential.

Your time

Minimum:
1 day a year
Duration:
One-Off
Period:
September

What's in it for you?

If you enjoy being outdoors, then this role could be the perfect opportunity for you. There are also the added health benefits that are associated with being outdoors and working with others to achieve a united goal; physical fitness as well as helping your mental health and wellbeing. You will be making a genuine contribution to nature conservation, and if you are local, you might find it rewarding to safeguard nature on your doorstep. We are a friendly and supportive team, so you might make new friends too. If you are volunteering to learn new skills and gain knowledge about wildlife conservation work, you will find that our workforce will be more than happy to help you on that journey
