My research has been focused on the ecology of breeding upland waders, mechanisms for reversing their declines and developing conservation solutions. I currently work on the Curlew Trial Management Project which is a research project aiming to test the response of breeding curlew to habitat and predator control interventions at upland sites across the UK, to inform the future roll-out of wider scale recovery work.
At the RSPB, I have worked on a wide variety of projects, including investigating the causes of whinchat declines in the UK, ranging behaviour of pine martens and the national winter capercaillie survey.
