We will also object to any significant expansions of airports on climate change grounds, as we are very concerned that any growth in air travel would result in the failure of government to meet its target to cut CO2 emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. We will continue to do so until the government can demonstrate how it is possible to expand aviation and still meet this target.
