National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs)
Almost half of England’s wildlife habitats are found inside National Parks and AONBs. They also store much of the country’s carbon, making them vital to tackling the nature and climate emergency. As the Government considers reforms to National Parks and AONBs, we wanted to know how people in England felt about these special spaces.

‘Cracking the Code’ Report
This report is aimed at local planning authorities, developers and local communities, encouraging all to prepare and assess design codes with nature firmly in mind! It shows how codes can be a positive force for nature at both district-wide and site-specific scales.

Nature helps us adapt to climate change
Climate change is already bringing us different weather conditions which are impacting our lives. Nature can help us adapt to heavier rains, hotter summers, stormier seas, droughts, even milder winters. Together with WWF-UK, we’ve commissioned Oxford University’s Nature-Based Solutions Initiative to explore the opportunities and recommend how we can action this – to provide solutions that help wildlife as well as people.
