How to get here 

  • Nearest railway stations Barrhill, 28 miles (44 km) away, and Stranraer, 30 miles (50 km)
  • Nearest bus stop 1.5 miles (2 km) away. 415 from Newton Stewart. Request Penkiln saw mill sign (grid ref: NX419530). No footpath
  • From Wigtown, follow A714 for Port William, left at Penkiln saw mill sign. Cross small bridge at West Mains of Baldoon farm and pass East Mains of Baldoon farm (both on right). 

Car parking

  • 15 spaces 
  • All firm, flat, bare and grassed ground
  • No height restrictions
  • No lighting
  • Approach is single track road with potholes (maintained by local council)

Nature trails

  • One compacted rubble and stone pathway from car park north to south side of Bladnoch river. Signposted Wigtown harbour. Accessed via kissing gate from car park.

Viewing facilities

  • No hides or viewing screens.

Toilets and baby changing facilities

  • Nearest toilets, including accessible facilities, are in Wigtown, 4 miles (6 km) away. Baby changing in County building only.

Catering

  • Food outlets in Wigtown.

Picnic area

  • Three tables with one wheelchair space next to the car park
  • Visitors are welcome to consume their own food and drink here.

Education facilities

  • No current provision.
