Visitor centre
  • The visitor centre and main car park is located 1 mile down a track from our main entrance to the site.
  • Large picture windows boasting a fantastic view of the largest water body on the reserve home to hundreds of species of waterfowl, waders and sea birds.
  • Serves light refreshments such as hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks.
  • From the visitor centre, you can walk directly out onto our nature trail.
Car park
  • 60 spaces
  • 2 Blue Badge spaces
  • No height restriction.
  • No formal drop off point.
  • No lighting.
  • Alternative parking at Hanson ARC site.
Toilets

The toilets (with disabled and baby change facilities) are not attached to our visitor centre and are situated opposite, a short hop across the car park.

Viewing point
  • Six hides.
  • Great views from visitor centre.
Nature trails
  • A circular nature trail 3.2 km (2 miles) in length starts at the visitor centre.
  • At the Hanson ARC site there are two tracks (both 380 m in length), one leading to a hide, one to a viewing screen.
Educational facilities
  • Education room can also be used as a meeting room with computer, projector, screen and optional refreshments.
  • Education scheme runs from the Easter holidays until the October half term each year.
