The reserve lies to either side of this road.

Access to facilities

Nature trails access
  • Although the trail towards the beach is mainly level, the rough track is unsurfaced, uneven and narrow in places. The walk towards Onziebust Farm is along a narrow, single-track, surfaced road with hills in places.
  • There is a bench at the beach on the eastern edge of the reserve.
  • There are three wide farm gates and a smaller pedestrian gate on the trail to the beach.
Dogs
  • This nature reserve is important for wildlife. RSPB Scotland welcomes responsible access, in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
  • During the ground-nesting bird breeding season (1 April - 15 August) and when livestock are grazing on the reserve, we would ask that you keep your dog close to you, preferably on a short lead, and please clean up after your dog.
