How to get here

By train

The nearest station is Rochford, 6.6 miles (10.5 km) away from the reserve.

By bus

Loftman's Corner, Canewdon, about 2.5 km from reserve entrance - Stephensons Bus Route 60 runs from Southend on Sea. From Loftman's Corner head east away from Canewdon onto Creeksea Ferry Road. Continue along this road onto Island and to reserve entrance.

By road

From Rochford, Essex, take the Ashingdon road until you see the brown tourism signs at Bray's Lane and follow these to the RSPB Wallasea Island Wild Coast.

Surfaced (crushed concrete topped with granite chippings).

Nature trails access
  • Both Allfleets Trail and Jubilee Marsh Trail are unsurfaced grass paths with a 1:12 ramp up to the sea wall. There are steps a mile along the sea wall. There are no other width restrictions or stiles on RSPB land.  
  • Marsh Flat Trail runs for a 4.5km loop near to lagoons and around the grazing marsh; there is also a shorter 1.5km loop near to the lagoons. This trail is also unsurfaced grass path.
Viewing points
  • A raised area provides seating and good viewing overlooking both Grass Farm Lagoon and Acresfleet Lagoons.  

Registered assistance dogs, and other dogs on leads, welcome on Allfleets Marsh Trail.
