We regret that due to the continuing cold weather conditions and uncertainty over the travelling conditions in this icy weather, we have decided to cancel the visit to Martin Mere on Sunday January 17th. Group members who wish to visit Martin Mere are still welcome to do so as individuals, but due to the poor conditions away from the main roads and frozen state of much of the water areas, we have decided to cancel this as a Lancaster Local Group visit.

We were hoping to arrange a weekend trip (Friday to Sunday) to the Elan Valley in Wales by car from May 21st to 23rd 2010. We need a minimum of 12 to book the hotel, the Elan Valley Lodge (www.elanvalley.org.uk/nature/wildlife/birds/). The Elan Valley is an area of old oak woodlands in Powys, Mid-Wales. Species should include ring ousel, raven, dipper and woodland species.
