Twenty two members and friends showed up for the walk on a sunny though very windy day at the Attenborough Reserve, which is managed by the Wildlife Trust. The bird which caused the greatest interest was a Garganey duck, the first time seen in the wild for several of those attending including our esteemed leader.
There were good numbers of warblers including Whitethroat, Garden Warbler and Willow Warbler. Sedge warblers could be heard and seen for most of the walk. A small group of Whimbrel were noted on an island in one of the lakes. There were also numbers of Sand Martin flying busily about.
