About

Strumpshaw Fen is experiencing flooding which can result in some of our paths and hides being temporarily closed. Please check our social media pages for the most up to date information regarding this changeable situation or call the office 01603 715191 before you visit to avoid disappointment. The Woodland Trail and Reception Hide remain open. All planned events are unaffected. ⚠

You'll find Strumpshaw Fen on the River Yare in Norfolk, around six miles east of Norwich. The reserve itself has a fantastic range of Broadland habitats and wildlife to discover.

Enjoy a walk round the reedbeds, woodlands and orchid-rich meadows before an al fresco cuppa from the visitor centre. Little ones will love our den building area along our adventure trail. If the weather's kind, why not stop for a picnic too?

We are delighted that the landscape and wildlife of the reserve was used for the set of the gripping new Radio 4 drama, Song of the Reeds. Find out more about the reserve's role in the drama here.

Group Bookings: For 10 or more people visiting, you click on a link that takes you through to the education booking pages. We do take bookings for education/school groups, but also regularly take bookings from adult groups such as local groups, U3A etc. These large adult interest groups need to be directed through to the strumpshaw email strumpshaw@rspb.org.uk
