Homes for mammals

This activity is about making your school grounds a better place to live for hedgehogs or bats by providing a habitat for them and their families.

This wildlife project could be a science or technology task – with pupils investigating what makes a good place for bats and Hedgehogs to live.
Or you could test design and technology skills and actually make a home, using our guide below.

Estimated time: 1-2 hours Season: All year Skill level: Not Too Tricky

First, decide which mammal you would like to give a home to.

Do some research to find out what kind of places this mammal likes to live.
