What we're looking for

We want some enthusiastic and hard working volunteers to join our team on Mondays and Thursdays to help keep the reserves and Discovery Centre looking their best for wildlife and visitors. You will be working alongside other passionate volunteers to carry out habitat maintenance and creation which includes clearing scrub, reed cutting, keeping the paths clear, maintaining the gates and fences and any other jobs other tasks which can occur year round, all to provide an excellent oasis for wildlife and people right in the centre of Weymouth!

The skills you need

You need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and work well in a team and happy to outside in all weathers. Experience of building maintenance, carpentry or habitat management would all be useful but are not essential and can be learnt with the help from other members of the team. You will need an up-to-date tetanus injection.

Your time

1 day per week - either Monday or Thursday
All year round

You will have the opportunity to see parts of the reserve not normally open to the public while carrying out practical conservation work and making a massive difference to the reserve. Radipole and Lodmoor are urban oases for nature and you will see some amazing wildlife while you're out and about working. This is an amazing opportunity to join a passionate and fun team which make a real difference at our Weymouth reserves!
