We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us manage our Weymouth reserves You will be doing a range of practical work to manage the reserve for wildlife, which includes clearing scrub, reed cutting, keeping the paths clear, maintaining the gates and fences and any other jobs that will make the reserve better for both the wildlife and our visitors
You need to be prepared to work outside in all weather, have a reasonable level of fitness and work well in a team. Experience of building maintenance, carpentry or habitat management would all be useful but are not essential, because we'll train you in the skills you'll need.
You will have the opportunity to see parts of the reserve not normally open to the public while carrying out practical conservation work and making a massive difference to the reserve. This will be an ideal opportunity for those who want to build up practical conservation skills maybe looking towards a future career in conservation, or for those who have free time and just want to keep active and fit, while giving something back to the community. Radipole and Lodmoor are urban oases for nature and you will see some amazing wildlife while you're out and about working. And you'll be joining an amazing, sociable team.
