Reserve Assistant - Weymouth

Wednesday 11 February 2015
Vacancy type:
Practical conservation
Radipole & Lodmoor

What we're looking for

We want some enthusiastic and hard working volunteers to join our team on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to help keep the reserves and Discovery Centre looking their best for visitors. You will be working together to keep paths clear, spruce up the centre and carry out odd jobs. All tasks are vital for conservation of the site and for retaining good access for the public.

The skills you need

You need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and work well in a team. Experience of building maintenance, carpentry or habitat management would all be useful but are not essential. You will need an up-to-date tetanus injection.

Your time

1 day per week - either Monday or Thursday
All year round

What's in it for you?

You will get to meet new people and have fun whilst making a visible and satisfying difference to the reserves. Radipole and Lodmoor are urban oases for nature and you will see some amazing wildlife while you're out and about working. You will also have the opportunity carry out habitat management with the estates team when they are working in the area and build up practical conservation skills.
