Vacancy type:
Practical conservation
Location:
Otmoor

What we're looking for

We require volunteers to help with the running of one of the best inland nature reserves in the country. Volunteers play an essential role on the reserve, completing vital habitat management and site infrastructure jobs and ensuring the reserve is performing at its best for nature and people. These jobs include willow and hedgerow coppicing, hedge laying, fencing and electric fencing, path and track maintenance, signage and bench repairs, sluice repairs and visitor infrastructure improvements and much much more!

The skills you need

Enthusiasm and a desire to learn and get stuck in! No previous skills are needed but you will need to have a good level of fitness (though this is a great way of getting fit!) and enjoy working as part of a team. All training will be provided and you will need to have an up to date tetanus injection.

Your time

Minimum:
1 day per week (work parties run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

Working as part of the reserve team, you will have the opportunity to learn about the reserve, develop and build up new skills and join a dedicated and committed team of staff and volunteers. This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation and you will gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.
