What we're looking for

We need energetic, enthusiastic, fun-loving volunteers to help develop and run an imaginative and creative programme of family activities/events. The activities will reflect our themes of climate change, the heritage of Wallasea Island and the wonder of our wild coast in a fun way.

The skills you need

To really enjoy working face to face with the public. To have a passion for nature, our project and the local area. To be fit and active enough to assist with set up, running and take down of displays and activities. To have a good sense of humour and a 'can do' attitude in the face of adverse weather and human nature! To be able to give families an engaging and inspiring visit filled with fun and information so they leave having had a great time and are inspired to support the RSPB and return again and again.

Your time

One or two days at a time when events held and half days for preparation etc.
All year around

What's in it for you?

The Wallasea Wild Coast project is an exciting coastal engineering scheme, which will transform the island back to the magical marshland that existed hundreds of years ago. As this develops you will gain the opportunity to put your skills to use, meeting and inspiring all sorts of people while gaining satisfaction from contributing to the effectiveness of RSPB work, developing our programme as part of the growing team. The RSPB is an active and inspiring conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you valuable insight into our work.
