Visitor Experience Surveyor

Tuesday 15 May 2012
Vacancy type:
Office and administration, Publicity and promotional, Inspiring young people
Lakenheath Fen

What we're looking for

It's really important that our visitors have a great time on our reserves so that more people will be inspired to support us in our conservation work. You can be a critical part in helping us achieve this. We need to complete 400 visitor surveys per reserve per year in a statistically significant way, to enable us to make the right decisions with our limited resources. Without this it's merely a "stab in the dark" about what people think and feel about our reserves.

The skills you need

We need you to have a friendly and approachable demeanour, be able to communicate easily and also to think laterally. You will enjoy meeting members of the public, have good customer service skills and be interested in improving the visitor experience and brand image of the RSPB. You will also need to be happy to be outside in all weathers!

Your time

Half a day - 1 day per week, flexbility on days and hours preferred
Throughout the year

What's in it for you?

The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work. You will receive training in enumerator techniques, full support from the reserve and regional office, gain a wide range of communication skills, be part of a friendly team and know that you will be making a difference to the visitor experience by influencing decision makers behind the scenes.

Appropriate training will be provided, and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary. Relevant RSPB clothing and equipment will also be provided. The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing – help us keep it that way.
