What we're looking for

We want people coming onto our reserve to be met with a smile. On some occasions you will be out and about on the reserve to locate wildlife and point them out to the public. RSPB membership really is the lifeblood of the Society and underpins every single thing we do. It helps us fund nature conservation work here and across the UK - not only the ongoing land management of our reserves but also by creating and enhancing magnificent wild paces for nature and people to enjoy. It is therefore important that you can inspire people about the work we do, and ask them would they like to support us by becoming a member.

The skills you need

You'll need to have the confidence to strike up conversations with strangers and to ask them would they like to join the RSPB. Your infectious enthusiasm for wildlife and the RSPB that will really inspire people, therefore a basic knowledge of birds and wildlife would be an advantage. May involve movement between the visitor centre and reserve. Sometimes distances of up to 5 miles.

What's in it for you?

A fantastic opportunity to represent Europe's largest nature conservation organisation at a local National Nature Reserve in the local community. This role will suit someone who loves to meet and talk to visitors and who would gain satisfaction from encouraging people to support the RSPB as members. It's also a great opportunity to work at a unique wildlife reserve learning more about nature, birds and wildlife, whilst making a real difference to the work of the RSPB.
