Exe Estuary Reserve

What we're looking for

We are looking for a small group of local people to keep an eye on our exe estuary reserves in Devon. A simple task of regularly walking the site and checking all the existing infrastructure of gates, viewing platform, cattle water troughs etc., reporting back and allowing us more eyes and ears to fix anything that needs it.

The skills you need

Enthusiasm and an interest in our conservation work are essential. The ability to walk over rough ground when doing infrastructure checks. You won't be expected to mend things or do estate work, just report back on what is needed so the reserve staff can program the time to get it done. Being able to wield a broom with enthusiasm in the hide and make the visitors feel welcome. Birding skills are not essential as other volunteers are usually available to help out.

Your time

Flexible - but 1-2 hours per week desirable
Year Round

What's in it for you?

To work as part of the reserve team and learn more about the reserve. An excuse to get out in the fresh air and see parts of the reserve not generally open to the public. You will gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.
