What we're looking for

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to become Youth Ranger Leaders, helping to plan and prepare the Youth Ranger programme as well as delivering and leading Youth Ranger sessions throughout the year. You will become a member of a small team supervising and facilitating young people aged approximately 14 - 18 years, undertaking nature conservation related activities on the RSPB Saltholme Reserve.

The skills you need

You will be an enthusiastic, friendly and approachable person, with an outgoing personality. You will have a passion for the outdoors and a desire to enable young people to develop a greater connection with it by enabling them to make their own choices and develop their own confidence and ability in the field of nature conservation

Your time

1 day per month usually on a Saturday
All year round

You will become part of an active team, committed to enthusing young people about the RSPB Saltholme reserve and the work of conservation organisations. You will receive relevant training and develop your skills in working with young people aged 14-18, in an outdoor setting, enabling you to effectively facilitate their learning of nature conservation. You will have an opportunity to share with us your existing skills or experiences, or simply bring along your enthusiasm to learn.
