What we're looking for

The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! Throughout the year we attend events at a wide variety of venues across Northern England, and hold our famous Date with Nature events. We need your help to ensure these events run smoothly and attendees are inspired by the RSPB. We are looking for someone who is passionate and can help us convey the importance of nature conversation to a wide audience. We will need assistance promoting and setting up these events and this may include erecting and taking down a marquee.

The skills you need

You'll need to have the confidence to strike up conversations with strangers, a desire to help, an enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation, but most important of all, you'll need a friendly demeanour and a ready smile. You need to be able to tell a house sparrow from a house, but you don't need to be an expert!

Your time

Minimum:
1 day per month
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year around, but especially spring and summer

What's in it for you?

This is a great chance to enthuse others about wildlife, and get some good experience of events, customer care, face-to-face sales and working with young people. It is also a great opportunity to spend some time working outside. Oh and you'll get the warm happy feeling that comes with helping save our amazing wildlife. Further opportunities are available for committed volunteers
