Posted:
Tuesday 6 September 2016
Vacancy type:
Practical conservation
Location:
South Stack, Anglesey

What we're looking for

In spring 2017 we created a small nature garden as an example of what people could do in their homes to create a home for nature. Funded by Tesco's we would love for someone to maintain and help us to develop it further. So, if you have a few hours a week to help during the growing season, we would love to hear from you.

The skills you need

We need you to have basic gardening skills. You should be reliable and happy to work on your own or as part of a team in all weathers without close supervision.

Your time

Minimum:
1 day per week
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

• An opportunity to gain experience working as part of the reserve team at South Stack. • To learn more about our conservation work and make a valuable contribution to connecting people to nature. • To develop and have work experience of nature gardening and team work and to learn about the work of the RSPB.

Notes

Appropriate training will be provided, and since you'll be giving up your time, it's only fair that we offer to re-imburse your travel expenses (up to 25 miles). Please note the South Stack reserve is quite remote and so own transport is useful as there is no public transport to the reserve. To find out more about our reserve The RSPB is the UK charity working to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife, helping to create a better world for all of us. We belong to BirdLife International, the global partnership of bird conservation organisations. Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us. Nature is amazing - help us keep it that way.
