What we're looking for

We're passionate about encouraging everyone to give nature a home and we're looking for a sociable and inspiring person to be an advocate for the RSPB in the local community. This role will involve giving talks to small community groups and being our representative at similar events. Talks will be themed around the work of the RSPB and how people can help to give nature a home. RSPB Cymru regularly receives requests to provide talks for community interest groups throughout the year. These events can be during the day or in the evening and usually last around 2-3 hours, with talks expected to be around 45 minutes on average.

The skills you need

We're looking for a confident and engaging public speaker, who is able to enthuse people about the RSPB and ask them to support us. General wildlife knowledge and awareness of conservation issues would be highly beneficial, although you would not need to be an expert. Good computer skills to use PowerPoint and adapt to different computer set-ups at the various sites where the talks take place. Confidence in asking and engaging with the audience to support us through fundraising and membership. Ability to create engaging talks based on RSPB information or adapt ready made presentations. Ability to speak fluent Welsh is a bonus for providing talks to Welsh language groups.
