What we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, passionate volunteer and 'people person' to provide support for our membership development officers across the region; delivering wildlife events for children and engaging members of the public about the conservation work of the RSPB. This could include making apple birdfeeders to demonstrate the simple ways to save nature, or fun craft activities like making an albatross from paper plates!

The skills you need

You need to be outgoing, enthusiastic, approachable and, crucially, to enjoy working with members of the public. Creativity, enthusiasm and the ability to work with people and talk to members of the public. Being able to travel across the central belt of Scotland and be flexible in the hours you can give.

Your time

Minimum:
Ad-hoc, a few hours a week during peak
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
Summer

What's in it for you?

The satisfaction of knowing that your work will encourage people to learn more about birds and support the conservation work of the RSPB. As an RSPB volunteer you will gain valuable experience working with a charity and further your skills in public communication. You'll also have the opportunity to attend a large number of events across Scotland on behalf of the RSPB! The role itself is very rewarding and there is a great deal to be learned regarding wildlife and conservation. Learning modules will also be made available to you as a volunteer regarding working with the public through to the legality of working for a charity.
