What we're looking for
Saving Nature Through People (SNTP) is one of the RSPB's new strategic priorities. The aim of this work is to build a diverse, people-powered movement to save nature. We are currently developing our approach to Saving Nature Through People and this includes gathering information to help shape our vision and direction. Part of this work is researching examples of best practice projects or activities, and producing case studies. From these case studies we can draw out insights to help us develop a 'how to' guide, which will become our Saving Nature Through People Toolkit. This role will focus primarily on RSPB Local Groups and help us research the fantastic activities they do across the four UK countries. These include enthusing the public about nature, generating income, community action, campaigning and communications. There are also groups that would like to diversify what they do, and it would be great to capture those ideas too. This role will be carrying out tasks such as researching local group activities on their websites and in their newsletters, contacting local groups to interview them about the activities they are doing and producing case studies from this research. The person appointed will be provided with an interview template to help gather the information, and will be supported fully by the SNTP programme team and Local Group Officers.
