What we're looking for

Guided walks are a great way for people to discover the wonders of nature. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead our guided walks and inspire people about our fantastic reserves and fascinating species within the Forest of Dean. What we're looking for §To lead and help with the smooth running of guided walks on our Gloucestershire reserves. This may include a focused walk on a species of interest, for example singing nightingales at our RSPB Highnam Woods reserve. §To showcase our amazing forest and wildlife and bring visitors in touch with nature. §To ensure attendees enjoy themselves and get the most out of the event and encourage support for our reserves and why preserving them is so important. §To develop new creative ideas for future walks and events.

The skills you need Essential: §Enthusiasm §A passion for nature Desirable: §Outgoing and friendly person §The ability to strike up conversations with a wide range of audiences from very young to old §Any wildlife knowledge would be an advantage - but we will support you and give you the information and training you need

We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work and help to improve your own knowledge in birds. You'll be making a big contribution to the work of the RSPB and our nature reserves.

Notes

Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us. Appropriate training and induction will be provided. Expenses will be re-imbursed in line with RSPB policy. Please note that the reserves have mixed terrain and not all paths are surfaced.
