What we're looking for

The RSPB manages thousands of hectares of land which include thousands of archaeological sites. We are working to ensure that information on all sites is available to all reserve staff. At present certain parts of the UK are included in our GIS system (Merlin). But we need assistance in adding data to our systems for the rest of the country and updating existing records.

The skills you need

An understanding of the use of maps and GIS. An attention to detail, and an ability to summarise other people's texts. Good liaison skills. Prior knowledge of archaeology would be helpful but is not essential.

Your time

Minimum:
One day a week
Duration:
3 months
Period:
ASAP

What's in it for you?

You'll enhance your data manipulation skills and develop GIS knowledge. You'll learn about the range of archaeological and historic sites that are on our reserves and visit certain places to gather further information. You'll be making a valuable contribution to conservation and the RSPB. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.
