Go wild this summer at RSPB nature reserves
Summertime buzzes with wildlife. Bats and dragonflies zip through the air, hunting for prey. And it’s lizard egg-hatching time, when young common lizards, sand lizards and slow worms make a break for it. The long days hum with activity and there’s so much to see in the great outdoors.
The best place to experience all the summer fun?
RSPB nature reserves, of course.
Throughout the summer holidays, nearly 40 of our reserves are celebrating the season with a host of Big Wild Summer activities for explorers. See what’s beneath the surface while pond-dipping and head out to hunt for creepy crawlies on a mini bug safari. Or, sign up for a pyjama party or Big Wild Sleepout where you’ll snooze under the stars, get up close with nighttime wildlife, and brush up on your campfire skills!
Our Big Wild Summer trails will help you roam our reserves and our special Wild Detective packs will keep kids entertained. Inside, you’ll find you'll find an activity pack full of ideas to explore the outdoors – a certificate, pencil, nature game and themed recipe card so you can discover nature both on your visit and at home.
Big Wild Summer events can be enjoyed at participating reserves across the summer from 1 July. Dates and times at each reserve may vary.
