Please be respectful of other visitor access, our team and our neighbours by not parking on the road, verges or in gateways, as it causes an obstruction for residents and emergency services.
No lighting in car park. No height restriction barrier. Bicycle racks available. Coaches are not advised.
The level, surfaced paths up to the sea bank, and alongside the grassland, makes Freiston Shore the perfect place for a stroll in nature with a pushchair.

Our hides and viewpoints are a great place to spot the special wildlife here and offer outstanding views over Freiston Shore.

Viewing platform, accessed by steps, overlooking wet grassland. Viewing screen overlooking freshwater reservoir with variable height viewing slots.
Our reserve boasts 8 km of trails to help you explore this amazing landscape and the wildlife that calls it home.
Wetland Trail is a 3 mile (4.8 km) loop, taking up to 2.5 hours. Six benches without back supports. Wide, flat concrete track joining grass path leading up to the sea bank via flight of steps. Alternative step-free linear route staying on concrete track (please note that cattle graze the sea banks from April to October).
Lagoon Trail is a generally flat 1.1 mile (1.8 km) loop taking approximately one hour. Seven benches without back supports. The start of the trail consists of a compacted granite path passing the birdwatching hide. Access to grassed sea bank via flight of steps.
The Realignment Trail is 4.6 km/ 2.9 miles long. Allow around 2 hours to complete this trail. The route takes you past brackish lagoon and saltmarsh.
We have a Public Rights of Way across the site, running along the top of the inner sea bank.
Our picnic area is located at the car park and we have a number of other benches around the reserve with some lovely views 1 picnic table and 1 bench in the picnic area.
We have 2 hides and 2 viewpoints in total. Choose from the hide, seawatching shelter, wetland viewing platform and a reservoir viewing screen.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.

We don’t have any refreshments available to purchase here. You are welcome to bring a picnic with you to enjoy on your visit.
