Two nature trails - North Trail and Cromwell Trail.
It is a 20 minute (800m) walk from the car park up through our woodland, past the Silt Lagoons to the Beach Hut.
The Cromwell Trail is the shorter of the two Trails (36 mins), which cuts across our Floating Bridge and Boardwalk, whilst the North Trail (60 mins) takes you around the whole perimeter of the Phase 1 area.
A Seasonal Trail opens once the bird breeding season has finished in August. From the Beach Hut the looping route takes 40 minutes.
You can also walk the public footpath that follows the entire perimeter of the reserve. It takes 2.5 hours. Starting from the car park it follows the outer boundary of the site, giving excellent views across the reserve as well as Tarmac’s current dig area.
Additionally two stiles provide a connection between the Trails and the perimeter footpath. Please stick to the perimeter path and do not walk into the quarry.
The trails are mown grass paths. They are undulating and uneven in places and can get very wet and slippery in winter or after heavy rainfall or flooding. There are some
slopes.
Seven benches are sited along the Trails. Additionally, the Trails pass the 360 Viewing Area where a picnic bench and other seating is located.
A walk round Langford Lowfields takes you past many excellent natural viewpoints from which the reserve can be enjoyed.
Benches are regularly positioned around the reserve and the 360 Viewing Area (also called Corfe Castle) provides an excellent point to rest and admire Langford Lowfields.
