The main activities of the group are birdwatching field visits and indoor talks on topics of wildlife interest. Indoor meetings usually take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Field trips take place on Sundays and midweek and are suitable for all ages whether you are an experienced birder or just learning. Our friendly group will help you get the most out of the outings. We also produce a newsletter twice yearly. Our fundraising efforts have been very successful over the years and we like to support local projects such as the RSPB Loch of Strathbeg reserve. If you would like more information about the group, please check out our website..
Admission is FREE to indoor meetings with a charge of £1.00 for tea or coffee and home baking.

Aberdeenshire Wildlife Explorers welcome children and young people aged 6 upwards, from a wide area to the north west of Aberdeen, including Inverurie and surrounding areas. We usually meet on the last Friday of the month, (except July and December), but some outdoor meetings are at the weekend when we are out and about for longer. In winter, we do activities indoors and sometimes bring in experts to tell us more about our local wildlife and how we can help.
We have our Bronze Wildlife Action Award and are on our way towards Silver. We often visit Bennachie to go looking for wildlife or foraging for fungi and have made homes for bats, owls and hedgehogs at the Centre there. We have also visited the Nature Reserve at Muir of Dinnet, taken a boat trip to see the seabirds at Fowlsheugh (another is planned!) and watched the geese returning to roost at Loch of Skene..
Monthly winter meetings Kemnay Village Hall Fridays 7pm, summer out and about. Donation of £1 per meeting.
