The RSPB teams up with brand-new animated nature discovery series, Stan & Gran

We're thrilled to announce a partnership between new Milkshake! show, Stan & Gran, and our Wild Times magazine. Made for kids who love nature, mystery and fun, Stan & Gran is on 5’s Milkshake! from Monday 10 November 2025.

RSPB members under eight should keep an eye out for Stan & Gran in their January/February issue of Wild Times. Arriving in December 2025, it’ll feature a colouring-in activity and introduce the characters and show.

Then, expect more fun in February 2026 with the release of our March/April issue – the first of six issues featuring an exciting Stan & Gran comic-strip released next year. So, stay curious and keep your eyes on the skies!

Our partnership with Stan & Gran is a perfect match for Wild Times readers - RSPB members under eight. It’s vital that we pass our love, curiosity and knowledge of nature on to the younger generations. Stan & Gran carries this message at its heart.

It’s about inspiring us, young and old, to explore the natural world and learn how to protect it. With the environmental challenges we face today, Stan & Gran’s adventures have never been more important.

The series centres around the heart-warming relationship of wildlife-loving 7-year-old Stan, and his energetic Gran, 71. Together, they’ll investigate exciting nature-related mysteries in the fictional seaside town of Porthole. Six of these stories will be recreated in the brilliant Wild Times comic-strips. A perfect watch-along treat for Stan & Gran fans.

Stan has a vivid imagination and a passion for discovery that many parents will recognise. It’s this love for exploration and the natural world that leads into Stan & Gran’s mysterious, nature-filled adventures.

It’s not all fun and feathers though! Each episode shows the importance of logic, reason and scientific discovery, too. Along the way, we’ll learn how Stan’s thirst for answers, Gran’s sharp wit and their teamwork help to solve each mystery. Grandad’s always on hand to help too, as is Stink the dog and a diverse cast of friends and neighbours.

A Wild Times magazine will fly through the post to all RSPB members under the age of 8. Each of the six Wild Times issues released in 2026 will feature a Stan & Gran comic-strip, starting with the March/April edition.

Wild Times also comes jam-packed with fascinating wildlife facts and fun nature-related activities, puzzles and crafts. So, if your little explorer loves a wild time, there’s no better time to become an RSPB member.
