A free and easy way to plan for the future

Having an up-to-date Will is a simple and convenient way to plan for the future and ensures that the people and causes you care about are looked after.

We've partnered with Octopus Legacy to give our supporters the opportunity to write or update their Will for free - either online, in person or over the phone. The cost of your Will is covered by us up to £150 - so you can write or update a simple Will free of charge.

Gifts left in Wills contribute over a quarter of the RSPB’s income, and although there’s no obligation to leave a gift in your Will when using this service, we are incredibly grateful to all who do.

There are other ways to write your Will that still allow you to support causes close to your heart, including directly through a solicitor, ensuring your Will is tailored to your personal circumstances. This is especially helpful if your estate is complex or if you want specific legal advice.

Make nature your legacy

Thanks to our supporters, we’ve spent 135 years restoring nature. This year, we celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the return of the White-tailed Eagle – a bird once driven to extinction that now soars in the UK’s skies again. We were able to work together with volunteers, ecologists, conservationists and local communities, thanks to donors, funders and members.

We’ve restored habitats at a landscape-scale together, too. At RSPB Wallasea Island, people like you helped us to transform agricultural land at risk of flooding into valuable intertidal habitat. The nature reserve is now a vital pitstop and winter haven on the East Coast Wetlands. It’s thanks to our supporters that Wallasea Island holds internationally important numbers of Grey Plovers, Knots, Shovelers and Bar-tailed Godwits.

But there’s still more work for us all to do, so we can leave behind a world richer in nature than the one we inherited. Leaving a gift in your will to RSPB, once your loved ones are cared for, would help us to protect and restore nature for generations to come.
