Water and wetlands

Water is a precious resource, but the demands we are placing on our water environment are increasingly unsustainable.

We want to see the UK's water environment guaranteed for the future, by controlling pollution at its source and using our scarce resources wisely. We want to restore a landscape rich in wetlands to help our wildlife thrive and adapt to changing climate. By understanding and working with nature, we can improve water quality and reduce the threat from flooding in ways that are good for people and wildlife.

As well as safeguarding reserves, we also want to improve what happens in the wider countryside and make sure that funding is available to achieve this
