About RSPB British Naturefinder

Most wildlife books are designed to help you identify the animals you have seen. This book is different. Marianne Taylor guides you on where and how you can find each species. From exploring nature reserves to wildlife-friendly gardening, every page provides you with an accessible guide to make the most of nature out in the wild and on your doorstep.

Take big ideas back home

Did you know that UK domestic gardens make up roughly a quarter of the land in urban areas?

Habitat loss is one of the major threats to wildlife across the UK. With one in six species at risk of becoming extinct from Great Britain, nature needs our help.

Our gardens can provide a haven for some of our struggling species. From pollinator-friendly planting to putting in a pond, there are plenty of small actions you can take to create a slice of wildlife paradise on your patch.

While you’re admiring the inspiring transformations of gardens and greenspaces at the shows, our team will be on hand to give you some top tips to take home!
