Funeral and memorial collections

Collecting donations at a funeral or memorial service is a wonderful way to honour someone special and help protect the nature they loved.

Supporting nature in their memory

Thank you for thinking of supporting the RSPB in memory of your loved one. We understand that this may be a difficult time, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to honour their passion for nature.

Depending on what works best for you, collections can be held in person at the service, or by creating an online funeral notice page – both are simple, meaningful ways to celebrate their life, while helping to protect the wildlife they cared about.

Funeral collection boxes

Our collection boxes offer an easy way for friends and family to donate in person, at the funeral or memorial service.

Each box is lightweight, fully recyclable and easy to display. It includes:

  • Space for cash donations.

  • A printed QR code for secure online donations, for those who prefer not to give cash.

These options make it simple for guests to contribute in whichever way they prefer.

We will also provide guidance on how to return donations, as well as details of other ways to donate.

How to request a box

To request a funeral collection box, please contact our In Memory Team using the details below. We’ll send your box promptly, so it arrives in time for the service.

Online funeral collections

If you would prefer to create an online funeral collection to share details of the service or invite donations, you can set up a funeral notice using the link below.

This can also be shared with those who can’t attend the funeral, ensuring that they are still able to contribute if they would like to.
