Information for executors & solicitors

If you are the administrator of an estate or are executing a will that includes a gift to the RSPB, the information below could be useful.

Our Legacy Administration Team, based at The Lodge in Sandy, deals with all gifts in wills left to the RSPB (including those for specific reserves and/or projects). Members of the Legacy Administration Team are the only people authorised by our trustees to give valid receipt and discharge to executors.

We accept payment of legacies by way of electronic transfers and/or cheques.

Payment by bank transfer

If you would like to make a legacy donation by bank transer, please contact us by e-mail at legacies@rspb.org.uk and let us know the following:

  • Full name and last known address of the deceased so that we can update our Supporter records
  • The executor’s name and contact details.

We will then provide you with our bank details and the reference to be used so we can track your payment.

Payment by cheque

If you would like to make payment by cheque, please make the cheque payable to ‘RSPB’ and send it together with the following information:

  • Full name and last known address of the deceased so that we can update our Supporter records
  • The executor’s name and contact details.
