RSPB response to UK Government announcement of new guidance to protect pollinators such as bees
5 min readToday the UK Government announced new guidance to protect pollinators such as bees
Joe Llanos, RSPB Senior Policy Officer, said: "The evidence is clear that neonicotinoids are a huge threat to bees, which provide vital pollination services in our farming systems. So today's announcement is a welcome step from the UK Government to strengthen the guidance around the emergency authorisation of these pesticides. But it is vital that the UK Government goes even further and completely consigns their use to the past and supports farmers in using nature-friendly alternatives, for the better of both farmers and wildlife."
