Background
I enjoy applying my research skills across a broad range of projects. In my first RSPB role I used my data analysis and scientific writing skills to study the impact of habitat management on breeding waders in Northern Ireland. In my current role I am using my project and fieldwork management experience to lead three research projects in the Cairngorms as part of the Cairngorms Connect partnership.
I have a passion for fieldwork and during my time in the Cairngorms I have been conducting bird and moth surveys at remote sites within both the Cairngorms Connect partnership area and the East Cairngorms Moorland Partnership. I have also been involved in deploying and emptying beetle flight interception traps for two deadwood creation projects.
A large part of my current role is co-ordinating fieldwork. This includes managing staff and volunteers in the Cairngorms and remotely managing staff on sabbatical in Norway.
