Protecting wildlife sites

If you are worried about the damage being done to a local wildlife spot, or want some background information on wildlife law and the planning system, you’re in the right place.

We’d love to get involved in every case, but your local knowledge and personal experience of affected places means you are in the perfect position to make a difference.  Our local planning packs will guide you through the process of protecting special places near you.

Save Lodge Hill

Nightingale Luscinia megarhynchos, singing from a hawthorn bush, Minsmere, Suffolk

With your help, we've been fighting to #SaveLodgeHill, the UK's best site for nightingales. The site in Medway, Kent, is under threat from proposals to build a massive housing development there, destroying the nightingales' homes and setting a terrible precedent for protected sites everywhere. One planning application has been withdrawn, but we're told another is coming!
