Nature’s here – be part of it
From Anglesey in the North West to Newport in the South East our nature reserves are the perfect places to soak in the sights and sounds of nature. With woodlands bursting with bird song, lagoons providing refuge for hundreds of waders and spectacular seabird cities - what is guaranteed, whichever reserve you visit, is a journey of discovery in unspoilt worlds where nature is restored, protected and can thrive.
From rugged coastline to wetlands and ancient woodland, our reserves protect some of Wales' most precious habitat and the wildlife that depends on them.

Enjoy a taste of Anglesey at South Stack’s clifftop café or a light lunch and sweet treats with a view at Conwy or Newport Wetlands.

Family-friendly nature reserves
Looking for a day out with the kids that'll keep everyone entertained? Come rain or shine, you can find ideas for fun activities, family events or nature play zones at our family-friendly reserves. Take your little (and big) explorers out for the day in one of our reserves that offer a great family day out.
Places to play in nature
Nature is the ultimate playground. At our reserves, every moment of play outdoors helps children grow, imagine and connect with the natural world.
Outdoors, every leaf, log and puddle are a new possibility. Natural play helps children develop a lifelong love of nature – all while having a muddy, marvellous time. They can build dens from sticks and leaves, tiptoe across fallen logs and hunt for wriggling minibeasts under stones.
Play spaces designed for discovery
Our nature-inspired play spaces offer a safe environment for children to climb, swing, slide and explore. Blending natural materials with playful design, they’re perfect for younger explorers to build confidence, make friends and enjoy the freedom of playing in nature.
